The Times: Rust shooting: armourer guilty of involuntary manslaughter

This is Paul Epstein’s second feature in The Times. In this article, Paul is commenting on the outcome of the trial of Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and the Rust shooting.

The evidence heard highlighted the systemic failures and underlying causes that resulted in the fatal shooting of the film’s cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins.

While Paul was not surprised by the verdict, he believes that a future accident is inevitable unless Hollywood institutes rules and regulations to ensure production sets remain safe environments moving forward.
